‎At about 10 am on Sunday, 7th September 2025, Mr. Jeremiah Nworu, who had been trekking from Lagos, arrived in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.

Nworu had been trekking for the past 16 days from Lagos State, where he is based, to Ebonyi State, to show appreciation to the state governor, Francis Nwifuru, for restoring peace in Effium, where he (Nworu) hails.

‎All along, Nworu was criticized, shamed, and called a clout chaser because he chose what he considered the best way possible to express gratitude to the governor.

‎”For those who are not happy please because I love you, get this drug for your BP; amlodipine 10mg teva 1dly ‎lisinopril 10mg teva 1dly,” Nworu prescribed to his critics.

‎The Ebonyi-born, Lagos-based businessman stated that until Nwifuru entered office, the previous government of the state could not bring itself to end the war in his hometown, which lasted for several years, took several lives, and rendered many homeless.

‎Upon arrival, Nworu was gladly received by Ebonyians who had mounted a guard waiting for him. Local entertainers performed as they welcomed him (with ogene music); Boys Brigade members were also present, as well as many other supporters in the state, who sang his praises and led him to the state government house.

‎Before then, Nworu was received in Ohaukwu Local Government by the LG chairman, and the community king, kingsmen, and townspeople also welcomed him.

‎At the time of reporting this, Nworu was being hosted in Abakaliki by stakeholders, politicians, and other supporters.
