The Light at The End of The Tunnel is Very Bright, Hardship Over – Tinubu Recalls ‘Emi lo Kan’
President Bola Tinubu has declared that Nigeria has reached the end of the tunnel where there is light as the nation’s economic suffering is now a thing of the past.
Stating this during the historic coronation of His Imperial Majesty Oba Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday at the Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Tinubu recalled the ‘Emi lo kan’ slang during his campaign in 2023.
While he also felicitated for the new monarch a former Governor of Oyo State, who ascended the throne as of Oba Ladoja, after a 32-year progression through the city’s traditional chieftaincy system. Tinubu also seized the opportunity to share the hopeful message for the Nigerian populace.
According to the president, the economy has turned a corner and that a bright light is at the end of the tunnel as he thanked the citizens for their endurance and perseverance over the years.
To Nigerians, he said; “Your suffering has been as painful to us as a painful surgery. But the economy has now returned to a moment of growth and prosperity.”
“Kabiyesi, happy birthday to you once again. Today, I am honoured and feel very proud to give you the cheering news that the economy has turned a corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

At the coronation event, thousands of people where present in the ancient city as Tinubu thanked the people of Ibadan for their support during his presidential campaign.
He added “I once came to Oke Mopo to seek your support to tell you ‘Emi lo’kan’ (it’s my turn), and now we are there. Thank you very much.
“It is a privilege for me, as President, to witness your coronation and all the things you’ve started, the expectations, and the history we share together as you ascend the throne of your forebears.”
