THE BODO-BONNY COASTAL ROAD COMMISSIONED BY PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU LED ADMINISTRATION
The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has commissioned the Bodo-Bonny Coastal Road. This memorable event was carried out by the Minister of Works, HE Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON.
This project according to the minister is a major milestone for Rivers state, the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
Road users reacting to this development emphasized how Bodo-Bonny road and bridge corridor is the major first-ever land link connecting Bonny Island to mainland Rivers State. It opens a new chapter for safer travel, reduced transportation cost, improved logistics for industries and easier movement for the host communities.
In addition to accessibility across land and sea terrain the Bodo-Bonny coastal road has made possible, it is expected to boost economic activities, strengthen security, support the oil and gas sector and bring long-awaited relief to residents who previously relied almost entirely on boats for movement.
A long-awaited dream has now become reality, and it stands as one of the landmark infrastructure achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In his commissioning speech the minister,HE Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON also mentioned that the president will be present in person when the project will be permanently commissioned. In addition he also mentioned that the road is presently not open for heavy duty vehicles, tricycle and motorcycles.
