THE FEDERAL MINISTER OF WORKS, ENGR DAVID UMAHI, TODAY THE 10th OF JANUARY 2025 CARRIED OUT A TIMELY INSPECTION ON THE LAGOS-CALABAR COASTAL HIGHWAY
The Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, CON, has stepped our in person to inspected the ongoing construction works on the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road, one of the flagship infrastructure projects of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
During the inspection, the Minister visited Chainage 34–35 at the Iwerekun axis along Eleko, where critical swamp bogging and soil stabilisation works are currently in progress. These sections, known for their challenging soil conditions, are receiving special engineering interventions to ensure structural stability, durability and long-term value for public investment.
Engr. Umahi engaged directly with engineers and contractors on site, reviewing technical processes and providing necessary guidance to ensure strict compliance with approved specifications and engineering standards.
He reassures the commitment of the Ministry of works under his leader to deliver president Tinubu dream of a coastal highway of the highest quality standards, stressing that the project is designed to enhance connectivity, boost economic activities, improve coastal resilience and open up new development corridors across the southern region.
The Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve road safety, stimulate tourism and commerce, and serve as a catalyst for sustainable national development in line with President Tinubu’s vision for modern, future-ready infrastructure.
