There is currently tension in Nwezenyi, Igbeagu in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State after a yet to be identified young lady rented an apartment and kidnapped three children who are siblings.
The three siblings identified as Favour, Obinna, Kamso Okeoha were reportedly kidnapped on Saturday when the parents were not around.
According to residents of the area who spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, people living within the area are still shocked over the ugly development.
According to one of the residents, “we are still in shock over what happened. The young lady rented this apartment on Thursday, packed into the house on Friday just to Kidnapped the three children who are siblings on Saturday.”
“And Because she just stayed for one day before kidnapping the three children, we don’t even know her identity”, a resident told our correspondent who visited the area on Monday morning.
Another resident said, “you can see how she painted and even wrote one love just to deceive others living in the compound that she is a lovely person, we are still speechless over what happened”.
When our correspondent entered the compound, the suspected Kidnapper’s apartment was the only room painted with an inscription “One Love”.
Our correspondent, however, could not speak with the parents because they were not around. Only sympatheters were spotted still waiting for their arrival.
When our correspondent contacted the Police Public Relation, Ebonyi State Command, Mr Joshua Ukandu, he said he got a call about the incident and investigation is ongoing.
However, this is not the first time children are being kidnapped in Ebonyi State.
In February 2026, the Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the abduction of three children by suspected kidnappers.
The incident occurred at Nkwegu, opposite the Nkwegu Military Cantonment gate, in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Police authorities said the parents of the abducted children reported the incident to them.
The spokesman of the Ebonyi Police Command, Joshua Ukandu, said the three children included: one boy (aged 2), and two girls (aged 4 and 2 years).
Also, yesterday, Chief Francis Igwe, father of former Ebonyi Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe has been kidnapped.
He was kidnapped on Sunday morning on his way to church.
The incident happened in his Ndufu-Alike community.
Sources in the area told our reporter that the elder Igwe was driving to church when gunmen on a motorcycle double crossed him.
They allegedly forced him out of the car onto their motorcycle and zoomed off to an unknown destination.
Chairman of Ikwo local government area, Sunday Nwankwo confirmed the incident.
He said the local government is collaborating with security agents to piece the information available together and see how he can be rescued.
