25-Year Old Ogun Driver Kills Boss to Sell His Car

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 25-year-old Ayomide Oluwadamilare, who allegedly murdered his former boss, Kola Adun.

This was contained in a Tuesday statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola.

Odutola disclosed that the suspect was apprehended as he was about to sell off the deceased’s Toyota Camry in the Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos state.

Odutola said that the victim’s friend has gone to pick him up for service the day before when he discovered that his gate was locked from outside and his mobile phone was not reachable.

According to him, the police heard of the offense after residents of River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger, raised an alarm over a foul odour coming from the victim’s apartment.

The residents put a call through the police who came and force entry into the apartment only to discover the dead and decaying body of the victim.

He said; “At about 1300hrs on July 7, 2025, the Divisional Police Officer, Ojodu Abiodun Division, received a distress call from Mubarak area in Akute regarding an offensive smell from a building.

“Officers proceeded to Ogunmoyero Street, River Valley Estate, and upon forcing entry into the premises, discovered the decomposing body of one Mr. Kola Adun on the first floor.

“The body bore visible stab wounds with bloodstains found at the scene.

“Suspicions had already been raised the day before, when a friend who was supposed to pick Adun for Sunday service discovered the gate locked from outside and couldn’t reach him on the phone.

“His mobile phone later went off, prompting the friend to alert the victim’s family and the police.”

Furthermore, the PPRO stated that the police, during investigation, discovered that the suspect who happens to be the deceased’s former driver, had allegedly broken into the residence on Saturday, stabbed the victim to death before fleeing with his Toyota Camry with registration number AAA 193 GC.

While the police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Adun following call from neighbors, the police reportedly got a call from a car dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu whom the suspect had tried selling the stolen vehicle to.

According to the PPRO, the car dealer had found the suspect’s story suspicious during the cause of the transaction which led him to alert the police who came and arrested him.

He added; “The remains of the deceased have been evacuated to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, for autopsy, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and prosecution.”
