The ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), has announced the temporary closure of its National Secretariat as it directs all party faithfuls to mourn the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari and pray for the repose of his soul.
This was contained in a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Monday.
The Secretariat, according to the statement, will remain closed until Thursday, July 17.
The statement read in part, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
“As directed by the Acting National Chairman of our great Party, Hon. Bukar Dalori, the Party’s National Secretariat will be closed starting today, Monday, July 14 and will reopen on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
“We urge Party faithful to use this period of national mourning for quiet reflection and prayers for the repose of the soul of our departed leader.”
Buhari died around 4:30pm on Sunday, 13/07/2025, in London, UK after a prolonged illness.
His death threw the nation Nigeria into mourning as leaders across the country and citizens have sent their tributes and honored the late ex-president.
Buhari remained a president from 2015-2023 and was succeeded by Bolad Ahmed Tinubu.
