The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed how a woman identified as Hadiza Mamuda from Garin Abba village, Fika Local Government Area of the State killed her husband during an altercation over food.

The 35-year Old woman was said to have struck her husband with a log of wood, leading to his death.

In a Wednesday statement, the police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim stated that the command had sprung into investigation.

He further disclosed that the victim was a husband to two wives including the suspect and had five children.

“Investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court subsequently,” he said

The State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, in the statement, emphasized that community intervention initiatives must put in more work to address domestic violence and abuse.

He urged religious leaders to intensify sensitization campaigns on the dangers of physical violence in marital affairs just as he reaffirmed the command’s Commitment to maintaining security and safety for all citizens.
