Nigerian journalist and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has allegedly been transported to an undisclosed location from his cell.

According to a statement on his Facebook official page on Thursday, it was alleged that the activist was forcefully taken away by a CSP from the IGP monitoring Unit.

The statement also claimed that Sowore had his right hand broken during the struggle.

The statement read; “At about 6AM, a police team, headed by a CSP from the IGP Monitoring Unit, forcibly entered Omoyele Sowore’s detention cell at the FID in Abuja, broke his right hand, and transported him to an undisclosed location.”

NEWSMAXNG had reported that Sowore had gone to the police headquarters on Wednesday with a luggage in honor of a controversial invitation from the Inspector General of Police’s Monitoring Unit over a petition reportedly filed against him.

However, the journalist would later be detained.
