JUST IN!!! FG to Tour Enugu, Ebonyi State Today

The Federal Government said it will commence a three-day citizens’ engagement tour of Enugu and Ebonyi States in the South East, to showcase ongoing projects and interact directly with citizens.

Disclosing this at a parley with media executives and influencers in Enugu on Wednesday night, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Chinasa Nnam Ogbodo said after the tour of projects, the team will host a ‘Citizens Engagement Forum’ in Enugu on Thursday by 6pm.

He said on Wednesday night; “The purpose of this evening’s gathering is to meet and greet with members of the Fourth Estate in Enugu State, and to explain our mission. Our team, consisting of officials from the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation and its Agencies, Members of the National Communications Team, the Executives of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON), the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), is on a three-day tour of two states in the South East – Enugu and Ebonyi States.

“From tomorrow, Thursday, we will embark on a tour of ongoing and commissioned projects of the Federal Government and those of the Government of Enugu State.”

The minister further stated that there will be a Citizens Engagement Forum after the tours to be hosted at the Enugu State Government House, on Thursday by 6 pm, to rub minds and get feedback from various stakeholders in Enugu State.

According to him; “This pattern will be repeated in Ebonyi State, where His Excellency Governor Ogbonna Erishi Nwifiru will be receiving us on Friday, August 15, 2025. The two Citizens’ Engagement events will be broadcast live on national news networks.”

The Minister commended the warm reception accorded his delegation, especially from Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, who, according to him, rendered all forms of support for the visit on short notice.

He also sent President Tinubu’s goodwill to the people of the South East.
