Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a 34-year-old man and abducted a businesswoman in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Council Area of Ondo State.
According to the report, the 10 armed men had stormed the community in two u registered vehicles to mainly kidnap a popular provision seller, Mrs Orogun and ended up killing the middle aged man, Okudili Okoro.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened around 8:30 p.m on Thursday, when the kidnappers landed in the vehicles; a silver-coloured EOD car and a grey Toyota Camry and shot sporadically to scare residents.
Sources say it was at that point that the bullet hit and killed Okoro.
The gunmen would go ahead to abduct the business woman as they zoomed off from the community in different directions.
The eyewitness who pleaded anonymity states that the informed the police who swung into action immediately and assured that the suspect would be apprehended.
“The kidnappers have yet to make contact for negotiation or demand for ransom since yesterday (Thursday),” she added.
When contacted, the Ondo police image maker, Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the incident disclosing that manhunt has begun to apprehend the suspects and rescue the victim.
