Ebonyi State Government has prayed for man, Jeremiah Obaji Nworu who is trekking from Lagos State to Ebonyi State to thank Governor Nwifuru for restoring peace in his Effium Community.

In a statement issued on Saturday by Hon. Commissioner for Information, Barrister Ikeuwa Omebeh prayed to God to protect Jeremiah Obaji Nworu as he journeys home.

The statement reads in full below ;

MR. JERRY OBAJI NWORU: A JOURNEY OF COURAGE AND GRATITUDE.

All seasons, the galaxies of stars gather in the skies to cherish, adorn and eulogize the Giant among them. That Giant among the stars is the MOON, known as ONWA in Igbo Language. This is the axiom behind the journey of courage and gratitude embarked on by a proud Ebonyian, Mr. Jeremiah Obaji Nworu. He saw the need to appreciate the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru – the Bright Moon that keeps Ebonyi shinning and blossoming.

In every generation of a society, God raises a Redeemer, a Joshua who leads his people across the River Jordan to their Promised Land. This is the burden His Excellency, the Governor has on his shoulders and arms. His emergence as Chief Security Officer of the state has brought peace and development to the state.

It is not an exaggeration, but a fact known to all citizens and residents of Ebonyi State that His Excellency, the Governor sees the state as his own home. He makes costly sacrifices to restore peace in the wartorn communities in the state to enhance development of the state.

The effort of His Excellency, the Governor to entrench peace and tolerance and bring development to the state is visible in the following communities – Abaomege and Ishinkwor in Onicha Local Government Area, Amaeze and Izzo in Ishielu Local Government Area, Amanna and Ohankwu in Ezza South and Ikwo Local Government Areas, Akaeze and Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area, Ezza Effium and Effium in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, etc.

The aforementioned communities have appreciated our dearest Governor in many ways, expressing their deepest gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor for restoring peace and bringing socio-economic development in their areas.

In order to douse the blazing fire of communal rifts which had lasted for decades in Ezza Effium and Effium communities in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state, His Excellency, in his usual fatherly manner of settling disputes demarcated the boundaries between the two communities. To crown his initiative for peace in the communities, he created two autonomous communities in the area, one of which is Alioma Autonomous Community in Ezza Effium.

The visibility of His Excellency’s efforts to restore peace and love in the communities which were previously at wars has manifested with the return of the natives of the land who were displaced from their homes as a result of the communal crisis. Meaningful developments are seen in the communities as rehabilitation of markets, schools, hospitals and people’s houses are ongoing massively in the communities.

In Amaeze and Izzo communities in Ishielu Local Government Area, His Excellency, the Governor graciously approved and completed 140 housing units for the victims who lost their houses to the communal crisis.

It is in appreciation of His Excellency, the Governor for restoring peace and entrenching development in the aforementioned communities that Mr. Jeremiah Obaji Nworu, a native of Ezza Effium decided to embark on a Trek-a-thon, a journey of courage and gratitude from Lagos to Abakaliki.
