Trader Kills Older Sister Over N800 Pepper Debt
A trader in Akure, Ondo State, identified as Bosede Iluyemi, has allegedly killed her elder sister, Omowumi Tewogboye, during an argument over an N800 debt for tomatoes and pepper purchased on credit.
According to eyewitness accounts, the disagreement escalated when Bosede reportedly grabbed her sister’s clothes during the quarrel. Omowumi fell in the process and sustained severe injuries.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, said the suspect has been arrested and taken into custody.
He added that an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and assured that due process will be followed to ensure justice.
