BREAKING!!! President Tinubu Appoints New Minister
Barely a month after the resignation of Mr Uche Nnaji as Minister of Science , Innovation and Technology on alleged certificate forgery, President Bola Tinubu has appointed a replacement in the person of Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh (SAN).
Appointment of Udeh as replacement of Nnaji for Enugu state ministerial slot in the federal cabinet, was contained in a letter forwarded to the Senate to that effect by President Tinubu and read in plenary on Tuesday by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
President Tinubu in the letter, hinged the appointment on section 147(2) of the 1999 constitution (as amended) and sought for expeditious consideration by the Senate.
The letter reads, ” In compliance with the provisions of section 147 of section 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, I am pleased to forward to the Senate the nomination of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu-Udeh for confirmation as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“While I hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, distinguished Senate President and distinguished Senators, the assurances of my highest regards.”
The Senate accordingly, referred the request to its committee of the whole for immediate consideration.
The former Minister who represented Enugu State in the federal cabinet, Mr Uche Nnaji, resigned on the 7th of October, 2025 after barrage of allegations against him on University certificate forgery.
Udeh currently serves as the Attorney – General and Minister of Justice in Enugu state.
