I’ll Run For Kebbi Governorship in 2027 And I’ll Win – Ex-AGF Malami

Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has officially announced his intention to run for Kebbi State governorship in the 2027 election.

He vowed to tackle insecurity and revive the agricultural economy of the state during his bid declaration during an interview with DCL Hausa on Monday.

Malami expressed confidence in the strength of his political support across the state.

“INEC guidelines don’t permit mobilisation yet, but when the time comes, you will see that the people of Kebbi are with us.

“I have agreed to contest, and there is no retreat. God willing, we are going to win. We won’t disappoint those who believe in us,” he said.

While criticising the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Malami accused the party of worsening conditions in the North and leaving farmers at the mercy of insecurity as many farmers had abandoned their lands due to bandit attacks, severely affecting food production.

He blamed both federal and state governments for negligence and policy failure.

“Today, rice mills that operated for two decades have shut down because of bad policies that favour foreign companies.

According to the former AGF, his ambition is motivated by a desire to “salvage Kebbi State,” restore security, rebuild the agricultural sector and defend the welfare of residents.

He described his campaign as a rescue mission rather than for personal gain.

NEWSMAXNG reports that Malami had resigned from the and joined the coalition opposition African Democratic Congress(ADC).

He stated that his decision was out of love for the nation and concern for the hardship the people are facing daily.
