The General Manager of a privately-owned radio station in Ebonyi State, Legacy FM (The Sound of Now) Mr Godfrey Chikwere has emerged the winner of “2025 Ebonyi Media Personality Of The Year”.

Mr Chikwere, a refined and a popular broadcast journalist in Ebonyi State polled 10,254 votes to defeat other nominees, Mr Nwoba Chika Nwoba, Mr Charles Otu and Itumo Palm-tree Ndubuisi.

Mr Chikwere who is a strong voice in the Ebonyi Media Space has been an advocate of good governance and also trains the younger generation to venture into journalism.

Recall that in August 2025, Mr Chikwere was suspended over his post agitating for good governance in Ebonyi State.

Before joining Legacy FM, Chikwere worked for the state-owned Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation (EBBC) and Salt FM/Salt TV.

Ebonyi Leadership Excellence Award is an annual award event organised by NEWMAX NIGERIA to recognise those doing well in various sectors in Ebonyi State.
