Comrade Uyi Valentine, a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the immediate-past Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has been elected as the Secretary of the University of Benin Comrades Community (UCC).

The election, which was keenly contested, held on Saturday, with Comrade Valentine polling 82 votes to defeat his opponent, Comrade Abdulqadir Abdullahi, who garnered 9 votes.

He succeeds Comrade Arigbe Victor, the immediate past Secretary and former Director of Special Duties of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone B.

Other officers elected in the exercise include Dr. Abdurasheed Oyakhire as Chairman and Comrade Osagiede Esther as Vice Chairman.

Meanwhile, all newly elected executives were formally inaugurated on Sunday and are set to serve a two-year tenure.
