OPINION : Governor Nwifuru As An Embodiment Of INCLUSIVITY In Governance By Dr Boniface Nwankwo
During his gubernatorial campaign, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru predicated his manifesto on the “People’s Charter of Needs,” a comprehensive framework that encapsulates the desires and aspirations of the populace.
Upon assuming office, Governor Nwifuru has remained resolute in translating this vision into tangible action, aligning government policies and programs with the genuine needs and aspirations of the people, while ensuring that all segments of society are integral to the process.
A salient manifestation of this commitment is his deliberate effort to ensure that development projects are equitably distributed across all communities, irrespective of political affiliation, religious inclination, or social status.
This inclusive approach is further reinforced through robust multi-stakeholder engagement, involving traditional rulers, youths, women, professionals, and other critical groups in decision-making processes, thereby fostering a sense of ownership and collective responsibility.
In the realm of empowerment, Governor Nwifuru has adopted a broad-based strategy that targets diverse demographics, including women, youths, farmers, and civil servants, ensuring that no segment of the population is left behind in the development process.
The Governor has consistently prioritized peace and social harmony, resolving disputes through dialogue, consultation, and sustained community engagement, thereby creating an environment conducive to growth and development.
As the state prepares for the forthcoming Ebonyi Local Government elections, Governor Nwifuru has demonstrated his commitment to inclusivity by returning the responsibility of selecting leaders at the grassroots level to the people themselves, thereby ensuring that those elected remain directly accountable to the electorate.
By doing so, the Governor has reinforced the notion that authority and legitimacy derive from the people, thereby fostering a sense of accountability and responsibility among elected officials.
These deliberate and people-centered efforts have fostered unity, mutual trust, and shared progress across Ebonyi State, creating an environment where all citizens can thrive and contribute to the development of the state.
Undoubtedly, the virtue of inclusivity in governance has contributed significantly to the prevailing peace and stability enjoyed across the state, a testament to the Governor’s commitment to people-centered governance.
Forever may it last!
