Group Holds Special Ramadan Prayers for Tinubu’s 2027 Victory
A group, the Iyaloja General Movement, has organised a prayer session seeking victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The event, held in Lagos on Thursday, was attended by traditional rulers, Islamic scholars, market leaders, political stakeholders, community leaders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress.
The gathering also formed part of the ninth Annual Ramadan Lecture, special prayer and palliative distribution organised by the Lagos State chapter of the Iyaloja General Movement, with members from other chapters across the country also in attendance.
Among the traditional rulers present were the Olu of Agege, Oba Kamila Isiba, the Alaige of Orile Agege Kingdom, Oba Ambaliu Adegbeyi, and the Ologba of Ogba, Oba Latif Egbeyemi.
This was contained in a statement by the group’s coordinator, Mutiullahi Oladeebo, sighted by the PUNCH Online on Saturday.
Oladeebo said the gathering was organised as part of the group’s efforts to support the re-election bid of Tinubu, whom he commended for his leadership and efforts at repositioning the country for growth and development.
According to him, the event also marked the beginning of the group’s mobilisation drive as a support base within the APC for the re-election of the president and other candidates of the party in the next general election.
“We are gathered here in the spirit of Ramadan season to commit our ways to Almighty Allah. We are here to pray for the government of our father and leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Not just that, we are equally praying for his victory at the forthcoming general election.
“We are doing this with the belief that what we have committed to God will turn out well and considering the fact that as Muslim faithfuls, we are of the belief that Allah, in His infinite mercy, does answer prayers during the Holy Ramadan month,” he said.
Oladeebo added that the occasion also provided an opportunity for the group to support vulnerable members of society through the distribution of food palliatives to help cushion the effects of fasting during Ramadan.
He expressed confidence that the APC, the president and other candidates of the party would emerge victorious in the election, adding that the Iyaloja General Movement would play a key role in mobilising support for the party.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection and charity.
During the holy month, Muslim faithful abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset and often engage in increased acts of worship and community support.
In Nigeria, religious gatherings and special prayers are frequently organised during Ramadan by religious and socio-political groups to seek divine guidance for national peace, leadership and socio-economic progress.
