Tinubu Affirms Nigeria’s Commitment to Improved Electricity

Tinubu Targets 98,000 Campaigners in Ondo Ahead of 2027

Mr Victor Olabimtan, the Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), has revealed that President Bola Tinubu has mandated the group to enlist 25 individuals in each of the state’s 3,933 polling units as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during the inauguration of the Ondo chapter in Akure on Tuesday, Olabimtan explained that the initiative would produce a total of 98,325 grassroots mobilisers. Each recruit, he said, is expected to persuade at least five voters to support the President at the polls.

He emphasised that the strategy is focused on strengthening political engagement at the polling unit level, which he described as the most critical battleground during elections. According to him, the canvassers will receive payments beginning three months before the election and continuing for two months afterward, with funds paid directly to them.

“The President has instructed that we recruit 25 canvassers per polling unit. Their responsibility is to mobilise voters at the grassroots, and each person is expected to convince a minimum of five voters,” he said, adding that both President Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa would finance the initiative.

Olabimtan further noted that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors programme has been established nationwide to improve communication between the Federal Government and citizens, particularly at the grassroots level. He said the group’s role includes sharing accurate information about government policies and gathering feedback from communities.

Describing the initiative, he said it is designed to increase public awareness of reforms and opportunities under the administration, while ensuring that citizens are well-informed about ongoing programmes and interventions.

He urged members of the Ondo chapter to actively participate in mobilisation efforts and strengthen ties with the All Progressives Congress structures across the state, from local governments to wards. He added that the network is intended to promote unity within the party, maintain consistent messaging, and support elected officials in engaging effectively with the public.

The coordinator also clarified that the formation of the RHA would not interfere with the activities of other pro-Tinubu groups already operating in the state.

Olabimtan commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his involvement in selecting members, expressing confidence that the team would deliver on its mandate.
