City Boy Movement Distributes Food Palliatives to Cross River Residents

The City Boy Movement has distributed food palliatives to residents of Cross River State as part of efforts to support vulnerable communities amid prevailing economic challenges.

The outreach, held on Friday in Calabar, saw the distribution of over 5,000 boxes of food items to beneficiaries across both Muslim and Christian communities. The initiative was timed to coincide with the Ramadan period and the approach of Easter celebrations.

Speaking during the exercise, the state coordinator of the group, Okon Eyo-Ita, said the intervention was designed to provide relief and promote inclusiveness during the festive season. He noted that the group aims to support families during significant religious periods observed by both faiths.

Eyo-Ita further described the movement as a platform focused on youth mobilisation, civic responsibility and grassroots engagement, adding that the Calabar distribution marks the beginning of broader humanitarian activities planned across the state.

Some beneficiaries who received the items expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely support that would help ease the pressure on households.

The City Boy Movement has in recent times been involved in outreach programmes and youth-driven initiatives in different parts of the country, aimed at community support and engagement.
