Ebonyi House of Assembly Passes 444bn Appropriation Bill for 2025 Budget
Led by Governor Francis Nwifuru, the Ebonyi state Government has passed into law, an appropriation bill of 444 billion naira for the 2025 budget.
Following a statement signed by the assembly’s public relations officer, Sylvester Egede, the bill with the title; “Budget of Public and Social Development” was carefully deliberated upon by the committee.
He further stated that the House committee on Appropriation and finance had reviewed the bill at the state legislative complex before the committee further reviewed it page by page making sure it was void of errors in syntax and morphology.
The budget which comprised of three parts; personnel, overhead and capital expenditure, was commented on upon presentation to the assembly.
First of all, the speaker of the assembly started his remark by commending the entire committee for being thorough and committed to the assignment.
Noting the committee’s efforts as reflecting the spirit of seventh state assembly dedicated to the welfare of Ebonyi state, it’s residents and the Governor, Nwifuru.
Going further in his remark, the speaker urged the committee to not withdraw their support to the present administration and expressed his positivity in the development of the state through the 2025 budget.
Speaking also, the chairman of the committee, Kingsley Ikoro urged the heads of agencies, ministries, departments and parastatals to join efforts to make sure that the 2025 budget is properly scrutinized.
“I am satisfied with the excellent performance of all the stakeholders involved who have helped the committee complete the assignment. Government finance statistics and reporting standards adopted global best practices in their implementation” Ikoro said.
