Ondo APC Youths Mobilise Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election, Target One Million Votes

Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have declared their readiness to mobilise massive support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The group, drawn from the 18 local government areas of the state and operating under the banner of the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu, said it is working towards delivering over one million votes for the President.

Speaking during a meeting held in Akure on Sunday, the Director-General of the group, Thalis Apalowo, said the move was driven by what he described as Tinubu’s commitment to reforming the nation and repositioning its economy for sustainable growth.

Apalowo noted that the President’s policies are already transforming the economic landscape and creating opportunities for Nigerians, particularly young people, which he said justifies support for a second term.

“Our mission is to educate young people about government policies and opportunities, serve as a bridge between the government and the youth population, and promote unity, participation and democratic responsibility,” he said.

He added that youths in the state must take up the responsibility of advancing development and good governance.

“As we move toward the future, the youth of Ondo State must become ambassadors of progress, advocates of development and defenders of good governance. We are working towards securing more than one million votes for the President in this state,” he stated.

Apalowo described the Tinubu administration as youth-friendly, highlighting several initiatives aimed at empowering young Nigerians and expanding their access to opportunities.

He cited the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, which he said has supported over 510,000 students across the country, enabling access to higher education without financial constraints.

He also referenced the government’s credit scheme under CreditCorp, noting that more than N30 billion in affordable loans have been disbursed to over 150,000 Nigerians to support purchases such as digital devices, vehicles, solar systems and home improvements.

According to him, programmes like iDICE are also opening up opportunities in the digital and creative sectors, helping young Nigerians compete on a global scale.

Apalowo further stressed that beyond policies, leadership involves assembling capable individuals, adding that the President has demonstrated this through strategic appointments.

He commended Tinubu for appointing Ondo State indigenes, including Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, into key positions.

He expressed confidence that the formation of the group would strengthen grassroots mobilisation, sending a clear signal that youths in the state are prepared to support the administration’s vision.

“The youths are ready, the movement is strong, and the future belongs to those who dare to build it,” he said.
