Easter: No Progress Without Sacrifice — Tinubu Tells Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the government’s ongoing reforms, stressing that meaningful national progress requires collective sacrifice.

In his Easter message to citizens at home and abroad on Friday, the president reflected on the significance of the season, noting that themes like resilience, sacrifice, and victory over challenges are not only central to faith but also essential for nation-building.

He stated that although the current reforms may be tough in the short term, they are carefully designed to lead the country toward shared prosperity.

Tinubu also acknowledged the security and economic difficulties facing the nation, while commending the Armed Forces for their continued efforts against terrorism and banditry. He assured Nigerians that his administration is strengthening support for security agencies and building international partnerships to achieve lasting results.

As the country moves closer to another election cycle, the president urged citizens to remain united, responsible, and peaceful, emphasizing that democracy thrives on informed and active participation.

“The ongoing reforms, though demanding in their immediate impact, have been carefully put together and backed by a strong commitment to take us to a shared prosperity.

“As I have often said, true transformation cannot be achieved without sacrifice, and history affirms that enduring progress is often forged in moments such as these,” he said.

He added that despite present hardships, economic indicators suggest that the country is on the right path, expressing optimism about a brighter future ahead.

“Easter encourages us that even as present conditions put pressure on many, economic indicators show that we are making the right choices. A new dawn is on the horizon,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu concluded by appreciating Nigerians for their trust and support, encouraging them to stay committed to building a safer, more prosperous, and democratic nation.
