Senator Adeola (Yayi) Buys ₦50m APC Governorship Form for Ogun 2027 Election

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has officially joined the 2027 Ogun State governorship race after obtaining the nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The move signals a formal declaration of his ambition to succeed the current governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather pace.

Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is a key figure within the APC in the state. His decision to purchase the party’s nomination forms, reportedly costing ₦50 million, confirms his entry into the contest and positions him among early frontrunners.

His emergence is also significant amid ongoing calls for power rotation to Ogun West, a senatorial district that has yet to produce a governor since the state was created.
