The All Progressives Congress has criticised the recent political moves by Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, describing them as politicians seeking an easy path to power.
In a statement shared on X, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, accused Obi of moving across political parties in search of what he called an uncontested presidential ticket.
“Peter Obi, a political rolling stone that gathers no moss … roaming again in search of free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket … never willing to remain to build any party … fantasizes to be president on a ticket delivered only on a platter of gold … APGA – PDP – LP – ADC on to NDC … fare thee well, Nigeria’s inconsolable political drifter.”
Morka’s comments followed the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and their alignment with a new political platform ahead of the 2027 elections.
The APC spokesman argued that constant movement across parties undermines political consistency and party development, insisting that leadership requires long-term commitment to a platform rather than repeated defections.
He also alleged that the former Anambra State governor prefers a route that avoids internal party competition, claiming he is seeking a “free” ticket instead of participating in a competitive primary process.
