How Can He Handle Nigeria If He Can’t Face Party Crisis? – Melaye Questions Obi

A former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has publicly criticised the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, over his recent political moves, raising concerns about his ability to manage national challenges.

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Melaye suggested that Obi’s decision to step away from internal party issues reflects an inability to handle pressure.

“Peter Obi excused himself from tough situation. If he cannot face party tribulations and crisis, how does he intend to handle Nigeria? Because Nigeria wahala pass ADC problems,” he wrote.

Melaye went further to question Obi’s political journey, alleging that the former Anambra State governor has largely benefited from political opportunities without contesting rigorous internal processes.

“He can only operate in an air-conditioned kitchen. Hot kitchens are not for him,” Melaye stated. “He has never gone through primary; APGA gave him free governorship ticket, Atiku gave him free VP ticket, Labour gave free presidential ticket.”

The former lawmaker also claimed that Obi’s movements across political platforms were motivated by a preference for uncontested tickets, adding, “He cannot be part of primary election, reason why he left PDP… and left ADC for another free ticket in NDC.”

Melaye further alleged that the NDC is aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), though he did not provide evidence to support the claim.
