Those Seeking Abuja Tickets Have Been Brought Down — Keyamo Reacts to Delta APC Primaries

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has congratulated winners of the just concluded All Progressives Congress senatorial primaries in Delta State, describing the exercise as the “best primaries” conducted by the party in the state since its inception.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Keyamo congratulated former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa for emerging victorious in Delta North, alongside Senator Ede Dafinone in Delta Central and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas in Delta South.

He said the primaries witnessed a large turnout of “organic voters” and party members across ward levels, adding that the process was largely free and fair.

Calling for unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, Keyamo urged unsuccessful aspirants to accept defeat and support the party’s candidates, while advising the winners to be magnanimous in victory and accommodate their opponents and supporters.

The minister also praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as purposeful and inclusive leadership in the state.

Keyamo further commended President Bola Tinubu for promoting internal democracy within the APC, saying aspirants who attempted to secure tickets from Abuja without engaging grassroots leaders had now been “brought down from their high horses.”

He expressed confidence in the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 elections, declaring that “victory is in sight” for the APC.
