A member of the Kano State House of Assembly representing Gwale Constituency, Abdulmajid Mai Rigar Fata, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) after failing to secure a return ticket in the party’s primaries.
According to reports, the lawmaker’s defection was confirmed shortly after the conclusion of the APC primaries, where he was not selected to contest under the party’s platform for the next election cycle.
The development became public after he was received in Abuja by former Kano State Governor and political figure, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at his Maitama residence.
The reception was confirmed through a statement shared by Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, in a Facebook post on Thursday.
