The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has praised Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for what he described as remarkable developmental achievements across the state, saying other states in Nigeria should emulate his style of governance.
Emegha made the remarks shortly after Nwifuru was declared winner of the APC governorship primary election in Ebonyi State, where the governor secured 199,483 votes as the party’s sole candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking during the announcement of the results, the APC chairman said the governor’s performance in office had transformed governance in the state and earned him overwhelming support from party members, youths and various interest groups.
According to Emegha:
“It is not a surprise to Ebonyi people. We are only thanking God for making available someone like Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to come into the affairs of the state at this most needed time.”
He further stated that the governor’s developmental projects and leadership approach had become a model worthy of emulation across the country.
“He has done wonderfully much that only if other states can emulate the steps of Ogbonna Nwifuru, we believe very strongly the story of Nigeria will be a thing of the past. Because all about governance is development and we are witnessing it in Ebonyi State.”
Emegha also revealed that Nwifuru was initially reluctant to return to the race for another term but was persuaded by growing pressure from supporters and stakeholders across the state.
“We thank God for touching his mind to accept because it was like he was not interested. I know the pressure from youths and groups which compelled him, whether he liked it or not, to come into this race.”
The APC chairman commended members of the electoral committee and party faithful for ensuring a peaceful and successful primary exercise, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence Ebonyi people have in the governor’s leadership.
