“The Governor directed that the handing-over and taking-over should take immediate effect and be concluded with all alacrity and without reservation,” he stated.

They include the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Donatus Ilang of Primary and Secondary Education, the Commissioners for Trade and Investment, Rural Development, Information and State Orientation, among others.

Barr. Omebe said the Executive Council meeting commenced with the swearing-in ceremony for the new commissioner and special assistant, describing their appointments as a call to selfless service.

He said Governor Nwifuru charged the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by consolidating the achievements of his administration under the People’s Charter of Needs agenda.

The Governor also congratulated members of the Executive Council on what he described as the successful endorsement rally held on June 15, 2026, in support of President Bola Tinubu, commending the media for their role in ensuring the event received wide publicity.

He urged all members of the cabinet, whether affected by the reshuffle or not, to remain committed to effective service delivery and the overall development of Ebonyi State.
