A female banker —Ifeoma Onyekwelu, was previously abducted in Onitsha on 13th December, 2024 and was held captive for several days before her kidnappers reached out to her family to pay a ransom.
However, a family member who wants to remain anonymous said the required amount of money(undisclosed) was paid to the kidnappers who would not release her.
“Her body was found near ideani junction, along the Nnobi Alor road in Idemili South LGA after they collected the ransom” the anonymous family member revealed on Tuesday
Furthermore, confirming the news, Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police command’s spokesperson said;
“They suspected that she might have recognized the kidnappers so they killed her to avoid her revealing their identity”
Ikenga further stated that the corpse has been evacuated and pictures escalated.
“Further investigation has begun to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the victim” Ikenga said.
