President Bola Tinubu has extended his felicitation to veteran actor Nkem Owoh on his 70th birthday celebration.
Conveying this through a statement on Friday signed and sealed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president lauded the ‘Icon’ as one of Nigeria’s most beloved figures and appreciated him for his contribution and impact on the entertainment industry.
“Today, we celebrate a true legend whose talent has brought joy to generations of Nigerians and Africans across the globe. Through his iconic roles, particularly as Osuofia, Mr Owoh has etched his name in the annals of our cultural history.
“He used laughter and creativity to reflect our society’s vibrancy and resilience. His work has entertained and united communities through laughter and storytelling. I wish him continued health, happiness, and creative fulfilment in the years ahead.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, I wish Mr Nkem Owoh a joyous 70th birthday celebration. May his infectious spirit continue to inspire the younger generation of entertainers, who already love creating “content” on social media,” Tinubu said.
Nkem Owoh is a very popular Veteran actor whose role in ‘Ikuku 1&2’ and ‘Osuofia in London’s earned him his fanbase name ‘Osuofia’.
Osuofia’s significance in nollywood’s golden era can be seen and felt through his roles and scripts. He is not just good at what he does, he is an award winning actor; Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in 2008, in a Leading Role in ‘Stronger Than Pain’, the movie. Also, in 2017, he was honored with the Lifetime Entertainment Award by the Africa Movie Academy at its 13th edition.
He is a legend, he narrates his roles and lets his viewers and fans feel every action and emotion. Nigerians are celebrating Nkem Owoh in all and sundry as he turns 70.
