In the Kashimbila area of Takum LGA, Taraba State, 4 people were confirmed dead after consuming fish of a poisonous specie while two others are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment.
According to the report by a security analyst, the victims are Fulani herdsmen who had gone on fish expedition.
The report by reliable source revealed that the victims had set out on February 22nd 2025 about 10:00am to fish in a river closer to them.
However, while the fishermen caught fishes and prepared them to consume in the aforementioned date, they fell sick the following and it’s suspected that they might have consumed the wrong fish alongside.
After they were rushed to the hospital, four of the six herders; Abdul Juli, Sule Abubakar, Adamu Mato, and Saidu Payo died. The police were alerted of the incident while security operatives evacuated the corpses.
Meanwhile, Yusuf Musa and Ibrahim Haruna are currently hospitalized.
