21-year-old 300-level student of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Chigozie Humble, has been arrested by the state police for unlawful possession of firearms.
On Friday, the police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, in a statement said the officers were able to recover three locally made pistols and one English CZECH SCORPION pistol from the suspect, in the Department of Animal Breeding and Physiology.
“On 05/03/2025, at about 10:50hrs, detectives from the Serious Crime Investigation Squad (SCISSORS), Abia State Command, leveraging on credible intelligence, apprehended Chidozie Humble in his room at Royal Heritage Lodge, Umudike, Ikwuano LGA,” the statement read in part.
Furthermore, the statement revealed that the suspect is still in detention and investigation is ongoing in hopes on apprehending the accomplices and to know what the firearms were used for.
