The Oyo state police has arrested Oyekunle Olaoluwa: 35, Akanji Ladele: 51, and Basiru Azeez: 30, in connection with the hijack of a 45,000 litres of petrol belonging to NIPCO Petroleum Nigeria Limited.
Ibadan Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, said it happened on April 5th.
According to the PPRO, the incident happened along Ijebu-Ode-Ibadan road involving the petrol tanker with plate number – Adamawa YLA 575 ZY and the suspects had firearms.
Furthermore, Osifeso disclosed that the suspects during interrogation, revealed that their operation was masterminded by one Femi who planned the whole thing and handed over to them for execution.
“Their efforts led to the discovery of the hijacked truck at Lincoln Filling station, Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan, where the suspects were in the process of siphoning the PMS,” he said.
