In collaboration with the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Senator Remi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady has empowered not less than 500 women in Delta state.

As a way of meeting up with the SDG-5(Gender Equality) and SDG-8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), the president’s wife gave women entrepreneurs deep freezers, gas cookers with ovens, generators, grinding machines, etc.

At the event which was held in Asaba, on Saturday, the President was represented by wife of the Delta State Deputy Governor, Mrs.  Catherine Onyeme.

“The items being distributed today are intended to equip our women with the tools and resources they need to build successful businesses and contribute to the prosperity of our great nation,” she said.

Beneficiaries were encouraged to make good use of the received items to benefit them.
