The Enugu state Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, has expressed hopes that this year’s Enugu Tech Festival would position the state as a globally competitive tech hub in the country.
In a pre-conference briefing in his office on Monday, Ezeh made this statement describing the festival as a tangible manifestation of the commitment to transforming Enugu into a tech hub by the current administration led by Governor Peter Mbah.
With the theme “Coal to Code,” the festival is scheduled to commence today May 7th and run through to 9th, 2025 at the International Conference Centre, Enugu.
Tech professionals, the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Dr BosunTijani and his counterpart in Science, Innovation and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, are expected to grace the event as well as former Minister of Power and World class engineer, Professor Barth Nnaji and technology billionaire and founder of Zinox Technologies Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh.
The commissioner also revealed the festival’s programme which would include; keynote addresses, panel sessions, tech exhibitions, and a high-stakes Investment Deal Room which would enable startups engage directly with local and international investors.
According to Ezeh, the festival is not merely a tech event that the state Government is hosting, he said it is the unveiling of a vision.
“We are not merely hosting an event; we are unveiling a vision. From coal to code, we are rewriting our story — not just for ourselves, but for generations to come.
“Enugu Tech Festival 2025 promises to ignite a movement, reshaping how Nigeria thinks about technology, investment, and talent development,” he said
The commissioner further cleared that participants from across sectors are welcome to attend, connect, collaborate, and pitch their ideas as the festival would feature exciting incentives; brand-new laptops and tablets to be given away as prizes to excellent participants.
He hopes that the Enugu Tech Festival 2025 would cement Enugu’s position as a hub for tech innovation and attract the attention of investors, mentors and talents to the region.
