Cubana Chief Priest’s Restaurant Sealed Over Environmental Violations
The Government of Lagos State has shut down DONALD Restaurant, located in Lekki and owned by popular nightlife entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, for environmental violations.
The shutdown follows an occasion where two staff of the said restaurant were caught dumping refuse by the side of the road.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, disclosed the development on X stating that the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) alerted LAWMA on Saturday, May 18, 2025.
In the tip off, the LERA director described that the illegal dumping was done by a white Ford van with registration plates GWA 136E Abuja.
He revealed that the vehicle when traced was found to belong to DONALD Restaurant on Road 14 Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki.
“A white Ford van with Abuja registration plates GWA 136E was caught in the act of indiscriminately discharging waste.
“The vehicle was traced back to DONALD Restaurant, a nightlife establishment situated on Road 14 within the estate,” he said.
Gbadegesin apprehended the suspects at the scene and took them into custody as they would later attempt bribing the security team with ₦100,000 which they rejected.
Following this development, the LAWMA’s Monitoring and Compliance Team were immediately deployed to the location, and they took the suspects into custody.
