Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie has debunked rumours of her battling cancer and her thyroid removed; as regards her recent weight loss.

The rumour which started spreading after a clip from her cooking show, Mercy’s Menu, was cut to a part where she said she had a cancer scare, went viral — had got people feeling for her.

However, in a recent upload, the Nollywood star has appreciated her fans and well wishers for the concern urging the public to disregard the rumor making rounds as she is healthy.

The 40-year old star who rapidly lost weight after sometime of advertising her weight loss tea; said she has been getting a lot of calls from concerned close people and urged the general public to refrain from misinformation.

“First and foremost, thank you so much for all of you who have been calling in and sending messages and prayers.

“Thank you. I do appreciate it so much. But I do not have cancer. I noticed that a clip from my TV show, Mercy’s Menu, has been flying around. And I think it was cut.

“They cut the clip. I said I had a cancer scare. It means that I had this swelling on my neck. If you can see the line there. And my doctor felt it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroid. I’m perfectly okay. Thank you so much for all of your calls and your messages.”
