All Hail Abia Gov’ Otti as He Commissions 14 Newly Rehabilitated Roads in Aba (Photos)
The governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti has commissioned a total of 14 roads newly rehabilitated across the state.
In a statement by the Governor on his social media official page, on Wednesday, the commissioning took place on Tuesday as roads in Aba and its environs were brought back to life ensuring smooth commuting of the citizens.
According to Otti, the step was a part of his government’s Urban Renewal And Infrastructure Development Agenda, for the state.
He said; “Yesterday, we formally commissioned 14 newly rehabilitated roads across Aba and its environs, marking a significant milestone in our urban renewal and infrastructure development agenda for Abia State. This initiative represents the first phase of the 55 road projects scheduled for commissioning and groundbreaking in the coming weeks.
“At St. Joseph’s College (CKC), Asa Triangle, Aba, following an extensive tour of the completed road projects, I took a moment to consider the broader impact of the progress made.”
Among the roads revived by the governor include; Umuode Road, Bakassi Road, Isu Ihiteukwa Street, Asa Road, Enyimba Junction to Ariaria Gate, and others. He stated that the action was necessary to improve business operation in the areas, urban mobility and overall livability of the city.
He added; “Beyond asphalt and concrete, the progress also signifies the revitalization of economic opportunities, the restoration of public confidence, and the reinforcement of our collective aspirations for a thriving city.”
Extending gratitude to Landlords, business owners and residents of the rehabilitated roads for being patient and supporting the project from the first day, the governor urged all to ensure proper maintenance of the roads.
He further commended the State’s Ministry of Works and the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), led by Engr. Otumchere Oti and Arch. Uche Ukeje, respectively for their activeness through out the project and for delivering high quality infrastructure.
“I extend my sincere appreciation to the business owners, landlords, and residents for their patience and unwavering support throughout the execution of these projects. Their cooperation has been instrumental in making the project a success.
” I also commend the Abia State Ministry of Works and the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), under the capable leadership of Engr. Otumchere Oti and Arch. Uche Ukeje, respectively, for their dedication to delivering high-quality infrastructure.
“As we advance, I urge all residents to take ownership of these roads and ensure their proper maintenance. These projects belong to us all, and it is our collective responsibility to prevent damage from unregulated commercial activities, uphold environmental cleanliness, and safeguard the integrity of our urban spaces,” he said.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming Aba as he thanked his deputy Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel I. Emeruwa, and other senior government officials who accompanied him.
” Your dedication and support continue to drive our shared vision for a greater, progressive and prosperous Abia State,” he said.
During the commissioning, the governor and his company were received largely by the people. Residents and other citizens of the country have commended his great work.
