Tinubu Meets Fubara, Wike, Makes Reconciliation Move

President Bola Tinubu has made a move to reconcile Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martins Amaewhule, and other members of the state assembly following lingered political crisis in the state.

On Thursday, the president met with the aforementioned politicians at the presidential villa marking the first time Fubara would be seen with the president since his suspension.

Recall that the president had declared a state of emergency in Rivers on March 18 and suspended the state Governor, his deputy Mrs Ngozi Odu, and the state House of Assembly, citing their inability to work together and growing security concerns.

In the photos shared by photographers after the meeting, the president, the minister and the suspended Governor were seen smiling, talking and shaking hands.

It is also believe that the meeting probably helped to reconcile the factions involved in the dispute that has paralysed governance in the oil-rich state.
