Teenager Found Dead After Heavy Rainfall in Gombe
The Gombe State Police Command has discovered the body of a teenage boy who died in a gully at Hayin Kwarin Misau Quarters following a heavy rainfall on monday.
In their confirmation, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi on Tuesday, said the division got a distress call at about 6:30 am by the Officer-in-Charge of Hayin Kwari, Misau outstation.
He said; “Our officers responded immediately and visited the scene. The preliminary assessment showed no signs of violence or injury on the deceased.
“We suspect he may have drowned due to the heavy downpour recorded the previous night.”

According to the PPRO, the deceased is believed to be around 15 years old but could not be fully identified at the time of reporting this as he has no means of identification on him at the time of discovery.
He added that the remains were evacuated to the Gombe Specialist Hospital upon discovery where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Abdullahi further disclosed that the command is doing everything it can to find out the actual cause of the boy’s death as photographs of the scene were taken already.
He included that the police are doing everything to identify the relatives and identity of the young man as the public were urged to relay any useful information they may have regarding the development.
He added; “We urge members of the public who may have any useful information to kindly come forward or report to the nearest police station.”
