BREAKING!!! Security Operatives Arrest Suspected Killers Of 13 Ebonyians In Anambra State

The government of Anambra state has disclosed that security operatives in the state have captured individuals suspected to be linked to the gruesome killing of 10-13 Ebonyians In the state.

Earlier, in a press statement dated July 1st, 2025 and signed by the state commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the government frowned at the development, and disclosed that it was doing everything it could to bring the perpetrators to book and restore peace, as well as ensure justice for the slain.

The press release read; “The Anambra State Government is deeply saddened by the recent killing of innocent lives at Ogboji, Orumba South Local Government Area. The government strongly condemns this dastardly act in the strongest possible terms and extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

“We want to assure the good people of Anambra and beyond that this incident was not targeted at any particular state or ethnic group. Preliminary investigations suggest that the unfortunate incident may have stemmed from an internal squabble.

“The government expects the police command to conduct a thorough investigation, identify the perpetrators of this heinous crime, and bring them to justice. The government assures the people of Ogboji and the entire state that we will do everything humanly possible to ensure justice is served.

“We urge all residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended. We will continue to work tirelessly to maintain peace and security in our great state.”

Meanwhile, speaking with our correspondent on Wednesday, the commissioner clarified that Ebonyians are not being discriminated in the state.

He further expressed displeasure over the killings as he stated that Ebonyians in Anambra are doing well and being treated like one of them. He regretted what happened as he extended his condolences to families and friends of the victims.

Additionally, Mefor disclosed that he has accommodated several Ebonyi Indigenes in his private residence.

He said; “The Mansion I Built In My Village Is Filled With Ebonyians. We Don’t Discriminate Against Them Because We Are All Brothers.

“I am ready to bring you to Anambra State so that you will see that even in our civil Service, many Ebonyians are there, soludo has also appointed ebonyians into his office. Even in my own mansion, I will show you all the Ebonyians living there. Nothing like discrimination.”
