Bandits Attack Wedding in Kaduna, Kill 13 Guests After Jos Tragedy

At least 13 people were killed after suspected bandits stormed a wedding ceremony in Kaduna State, in an attack that has heightened fears over growing insecurity in northern Nigeria. The tragic incident occurred late on Sunday (palm sunday) night, around 11:47 p.m., at a wedding in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen arrived in large numbers and opened fire on guests, causing panic and chaos. Several attendees were also injured, and some were reportedly abducted by the attackers, although the exact number remains unclear.

Residents revealed that the bandits also looted nearby shops before fleeing the area. Some people had noticed suspicious movements of armed men in neighboring communities earlier, but many at the event were unable to evacuate in time.

Security authorities confirmed the attack and said efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators and rescue those abducted.

This violent incident comes just few hours after a deadly attack in Jos, Plateau State, where several lives were lost, raising concerns about the increasing frequency of violent assaults on civilians in Nigeria.

Community members and observers have called for urgent action from security agencies, warning that civilians in vulnerable communities continue to face serious threats from armed groups.
