Dagogo Rejects APC Suspension

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Fubara Dagogo, has rejected his suspension from the party, describing the move as unconstitutional and inconsistent with its established guidelines.

Dagogo, reacting to the decision on Friday, argued that the process leading to his suspension did not comply with the provisions of the party’s constitution. He maintained that due procedures must be followed before any disciplinary action can be validly taken against a member, stressing that party rules and internal mechanisms should not be disregarded.

The APC chieftain further stated that those behind the action failed to properly engage him, warning that any decision taken outside the framework of the party’s constitution could be rendered invalid. He urged party stakeholders to adhere strictly to laid-down regulations to avoid actions capable of undermining the integrity of the party.

Dagogo’s reaction follows his suspension by the Ward 4 executive committee of the party in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State. The suspension, conveyed in a letter dated March 16, 2026, cited alleged anti-party activities, disobedience to party directives, and conduct considered damaging to the party’s image.

Party officials accused him of actions that contravened key provisions of the APC constitution, including making statements deemed detrimental to party unity and bringing the party into disrepute. The development has also been linked to internal disagreements, including a legal challenge he reportedly initiated against the party over issues surrounding its convention process.

Despite the suspension, Dagogo reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and expressed continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that he remains committed to engaging party stakeholders and promoting unity within the party.
