Nigerian renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has been confirmed dead at 94.
The founder of Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and one of the organizers of Jaiz Bank, as confirmed by a family source, died in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, after a brief illness, on Friday night at exactly 3.A.M Nigerian time.

Born in May 19, 1931 in Kano, Dantata reportedly passed away in a hospital in Abu Dhabi as family promises to announce funeral arrangements soon.
Dantata was not just a businessman but a respected industrialist and a key player in the Nigeria’s private sector growth. The legend had seven children including Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata.
This unfortunate loss is coming 2 years after Dantata lost his wife Hajiya Rabi Aminu Dantata in 2023.
