Ojelabi Secures Second Term as Lagos APC Chairman

Cornelius Ojelabi has been re-elected as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, retaining his position for another term.

Ojelabi and other members of the state executive were returned unopposed at the party’s state congress held on Tuesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan. Their emergence followed a consensus agreement adopted by party stakeholders.

Delegates drawn from the 376 wards across the state attended the congress. Chairman of the State Congress Committee, Stella Okotete, presented the agreed list of executives, which was ratified through a voice vote by party members.

Among those elected alongside Ojelabi are Moshood Olanrewaju as Deputy Chairman; Adeola Jokomba as Secretary; Azizat Mariam as Assistant Secretary; Seye Oladejo as Publicity Secretary; Babajide Sunday as Vice Chairman; Shola Eletu as Woman Leader; and Ayodele Adewale as Organising Secretary.

The exercise attracted top figures within the party, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa; leader of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Tajudeen Olusi; and Secretary to the State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin.

Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, governorship hopeful Olajide Adediran, and former Senator Ganiyu Solomon were also in attendance, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
