10 Houses Burnt To Ashes ,Many Injured As Crisis Escalates Between Omege And Ukwuinyima Communities In Ebonyi (Photo, Video)
At least ten houses have been burnt to ashes on Friday in Ndieguzu Agalegu Omege Community located in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to report gathered by our correspondent, many people were injured after suspected hoodlums attacked the community..
NEWMAX NIGERIA gathered that the crisis which erupted between the people of Omege Agalagu and Ukwuinyima is as a result of
a fight that happened on November in 2024 when they buried one woman that was allegedly r@ped and killed.
According to a resident of the Omege Community that spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, “a fight that happened on November in 2024 when they buried one woman that was allegedly r@ped and killed.”
“More than 10 houses and property worth millions of Naira have been burnt to ashes. The government needs to do something”.
When our correspondent contacted the Commissioner for Information in Ebonyi State, Hon. Jude Chikadibia Okpor, he revealed that the State is aware of the incident and is doing their best to control the crisis.
According to him, “It was a misunderstanding between two youths from the villages you mentioned that degenerated into a free-for-all fight and resulted in the unfortunate incident.”
“However, it has been brought under control.”
As at the time of filing this report, efforts by NEWSMAX NIGERIA to get the reactions of Ebonyi State Police Command proved abortive.
