APC Expels Aregbesola Over Anti-Party Activities

The former minister of Interior and former Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola has been expelled by the All Progressives Congress, APC, over alleged Anti-Party.

A letter seen by newsmen on Wednesday, from APC leadership, confirmed the expulsion alleging that Aregbesola breached the Article 21 of the party’s constitution.

“At the end of the investigation, the state Executive committee (SEC), considered the report of the disciplinary committee. Having carefully reviewed the findings and recommendations, the SEC resolved to approve your immediate expulsion from the APC.” The statement with the title; ALLEGATIONS OF ANTI-PARTY ACTIVITIES–CONVEYANCE OF STATE EXCOs DECISION TO YOU, partly read.

The statement clearly indicated that Aregbesola can no longer get himself involved in any thing that concerns the APC, acting on behalf of the party or holding himself out as a member.

Recall that, after Aregbesola’s 2-term tenure as Osun state Governor, he formed a group known as ‘Osun Progressives’ which was later renamed ‘Omuluabi Caucus’. The APC faction had earlier declared its decision to quit APC and reclaim Osun state, totally.

After the meeting on Sunday where the decision was reached (to take over Osun state and quit APC), the All Progressives Congress decided to expel Aregbesola even before he and the rest members of the faction could quit as they planned.
